FLOWER SERIES

This fresh, colourful, floral series focuses on gentle details and beautiful textures. One can imagine being surrounded by the ethereal presence of many wild flowers. The works have been created using mixed media: acrylic, coloured pencils, watercolour, and a variety of pastels. Inspired by the artist’s lifelong interaction with horticulture and fascination with the unique gifts a flower offers it’s viewers.

The coloured Flower drawings and paintings are done on Acid Free Paper with Multi-Media – Acrylic Paint, Coloured Pencils, Water Coloured Pencils, Soft and Oil Pastels. The Black and White Drawings on Acid Free Paper are created with Varied Led pencils, Graphite and Black Artist Markers.

As a child, I explored and played in the gardens of Long Island Estates while my father played Tennis or overlooked Contracted Swimming Pools. As a Landscape Designer and Horticulturist for over 35 years, I’ve been exposed to tropical and indigenous flowers. I’ve always been awestruck by the magnificence of flowers in their delicate physical form yet their hardiness in steadfastness of growth. Flowers teach me qualities of elegance, grace, perseverance, gentleness and awe.
